Basic and clinical researchers are sought for Assistant or Associate Professor positions in UCSF's Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI). Joint appointments in an appropriate Basic or Clinical Department, graduate program membership, salary support, laboratory space and generous start up funding will be provided. Candidates must hold an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an exciting independent research program and to contribute to graduate or clinical training programs. Individuals working in any system (from C. elegans to human) are welcome to apply. Thematic areas include but are not limited to: vascular biology and atherothrombosis; metabolism, obesity and metabolic diseases; myocyte biology and heart failure; ion channels and arrhythmias; developmental biology and congenital anomalies; genetics, biomarkers, and disease prediction and prevention; pulmonary biology and disease; and molecular imaging, chemical biology and technology development.
