The position is responsible for leadership and delivery of a standardized, enterprise-wide Business Continuity Management (BCM) methodology across the global network of manufacturing sites for a Fortune 50 corporation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibility is to partner with manufacturing site colleagues to ensure the identification of critical business processes, formulation / implementation of effective recovery strategies, and mitigation of operational risks using an enterprise-wide methodology. The scope of responsibilities encompasses all manufacturing locations worldwide in the corporation’s manufacturing network (approximately 40 sites).
Specific responsibilities include:
Understand the business requirements and partner with manufacturing site leaders and colleagues to apply an enterprise-wide standardized BCM methodology to enable mitigation of operational risks and the recovery of manufacturing processes at time of incident.
Perform manufacturing site capability assessments to identify gain in-depth understanding of business continuity readiness of global network of manufacturing site, partner with operations to enhance current capabilities and maintain a global state of resiliency.
Partner with clients to develop BCM project implementation plans and manage effort to deliver agreed outcomes / deliverables on schedule.
Perform business impact analyses / risk assessments, formulate recovery strategies, document business continuity plans, conduct outage exercises, and implement maintenance and continuous improvement schedules.
Maintain performance measurement and capability dashboards for executive management.
Build relationships and share knowledge / best practices with BCM professionals across the company.
Participate in global pandemic preparedness planning and crisis management programs.
Assist in the preparation of Worldwide BCM leadership communications and briefings.
Work closely with emergency response / life safety professionals and crisis management professionals to ensure a coordinated resiliency framework.
Ability and willingness to perform domestic and international travel. Travel estimated at 25 – 30% and may be reduced after first 2 years of global program implementation.
Demonstrated experience implementing capability assessments, business impact analyses / risk assessments, formulating recovery strategies, documenting business continuity plans, and conducting exercises for manufacturing function.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes ideally within the pharmaceuticals industry.
Knowledge of contract manufacturing and supply chain management is desirable.
Strong project planning and management experience.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Minimum of 10 to 15 years of work experience with at least five years hands-on experience implementing Business Continuity Management (BCM) with a large multinational organization or management consulting firm principally for the manufacturing function and ideally within the pharmaceuticals industry.
Bachelor’s degree preferably in business or a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Business Management, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, etc.). Masters Degree in relevant technical discipline or MBA desired.
Professional certification from the Disaster Recovery Institute, International (DRII) or the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) is extremely desirable. DRII certifications may be either MBCP or CBCP. BCI certifications may be either FBCI or MBCI.
