Overview: 
Project 1.4 aims to improve our understanding of the functioning and management of tropical rivers and coasts by integrating the knowledge that is being developed across the Tropical Rivers and Coastal Knowledge (TRaCK) projects. To that end, we will develop concepts, methods and tools that deliver such knowledge to a range of stakeholders, especially in support of natural resource management. The role:
One of the products developed in Project 1.4 is a software package to facilitate the communication between TRaCK and its external stakeholders. This software package brings together the knowledge developed (and data collected) in the TRaCK Program in the form of computer models and integrates this knowledge and data within the Management Strategy Evaluation (MSE) framework. This position will take responsibility for the further development of this software package, under supervision of academic staff.

The successful applicant will work both independently and as a member of a core team and will have exceptional software engineering skills.

The Radiopharmaceutical Research Institute (RRI) is the largest group undertaking research and development in radiopharmaceutical sciences in Australia with a multidisciplinary team of chemists, radiochemists, biologist’s and imaging specialists. The institute plays a significant role in radiopharmaceutical research and is extensively linked with hospitals, universities and industry. 
We are seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow with a strong innovation focus, good communication skills and a proven publication record, as well as experience and skills specific to the proposed research project. PhDs must have been awarded within the last three years or be under examination.
As part of the Molecular Imaging teama postdoctoral fellow is sought to optimise and validate partial volume correction and quantification techniques which are adapted to dynamic small animal whole-body imaging with our PET/CT scanner. 
The successful applicant will have a background in applied mathematics or physics relating to imaging, and experience with positron emission tomography (PET) data. Experience with software development is mandatory.
Your appointment will be for 2 years at an initial salary of $69,441 ($72,358 from Jan 2010). To be eligible for engagement, applicants will require a medical and security assessment.
