The initiative now includes over 50 companies covering more than 5,000 individual products, primarily focused on the UK consumer market. It is now expanding into selected international markets, focussing initially on the US, China and continental Europe.
The principal functions of the Carbon Footprint Certification Manager are to plan and conduct certification projects and to liaise with clients throughout the certification process.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan each certification project in liaison with the client
- Certify that product carbon footprints comply with the requirements of PAS 2050, the Code of Good Practice, and the company certification rules 
- Prepare evaluation reports and communicate findings to clients
- Conduct internal reviews of other certifiers' assessments
- Effectively manage a pipeline of certification projects
- Support the Company's processes for handling complaints and appeals
- Contribute to documenting and further developing relevant certification guidelines and procedures
- Identify and document key learnings from certification projects
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:
Essential
- Degree educated (at least 2.1) or equivalent - in a relevant science / engineering / numerate discipline
- Good understanding and experience of product carbon footprinting, life-cycle assessment (LCA) or supply chain analysis.
- Experience in Greenhouse Gas verification processes - including information auditing.
- Good communication skills, including the ability to present effectively to technical audiences at all levels
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
