High Performance Technologies, Inc. (HPTi) is more than a company—it is an innovative environment. The people who comprise HPTi are dedicated to architecting, designing, developing, and managing systems and programs that keep America safe and prosperous. HPTi does not build solutions; rather, we build the people who build solutions for America’s toughest challenges. We seek clients and employees who are comfortable using high-performance technology to solve challenging mission problems. As we enter our 18th year in business, HPTi is dedicated to building IT Knowledge Leaders through our client assignments, training programs, and devotion to the people who comprise this dynamic firm. HPTi has a proud legacy of technical achievement that has been possible only because of our commitment to our people and to our customers. At HPTi, our customers are first, our employees second, our stockholders third, and our community fourth. This guiding principle helps us remember the importance of our firm within the marketplace—and our people within this firm.
The selected candidate will work with NOAA scientists, outreach personnel and outside media as well as institutions to produce highly polished visualizations, often on an on-demand and highly time-constrained basis. The successful candidate will have not only the technical capabilities to analyze data to produce scientifically and visually useful products, but also the project management capabilities to effectively coordinate customers, researchers, IT resources, and outreach personnel to deliver the desired product on schedule. An example of such products can be found at GFDL’s Visualization Gallery.
This work involves creating and maintaining a set of visualization tools for use in generating high-end visualization, and assistance to users who wish use these tools. Once created, these products will be managed in internal and external galleries/libraries/repositories, and assistance will be provided to users that want to integrate these products into their own presentations.
Lastly, this work involves creating educational products that elucidate various scientific concepts or themes to audiences of varying technical sophistication. These can take the form of narrated animations suitable for classroom, museum kiosk, or the web (e.g., YouTube). Examples of such products can be found at http://www.gfdl.noaa.gov/e-media-produced-by-gfdl-ccvp.
