Summary:
The candidate will work with our translational research team by contributing to the development and execution of cell assays to understand the activity of small molecule drugs targeting novel cancer targets. The successful candidate will have solid technical experience and enthusiasm for working in a team environment to develop new anticancer drugs.
Technical Skills:
• Mastery of basic lab skills.
• Properly maintain lab notebook (documentations e.g. worksheet, CTR, ELN, etc.
• Understand, follow and validate protocols.
• Data collection.
• Implement and validate protocols.
• Reviewing literature for technical support.
• Familiarity with data retrieval and input from database.
Responsibilities:
• Use instrumentation to perform basic experiments.
• Record experimental details.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies and notebook.
• Search literature for targeted information.
• Understand and execute on role tasks.
• With assistance, execute experiments, conducts analysis and report results.
• Familiarity with work and business practices to be able to identify and troubleshoot routine problems.
• Contribute to the maintenance of a cancer cell line bank
• Actively participate in the development of cell-based assays for compound screening and mechanistic studies, including biomarker work
• Perform molecular, biochemical, and cell biological techniques such as cell culture, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, western blot, RNA preparation and mammalian cell transfections.
• Perform a wide range of assigned research experiments with efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail
• Meticulous record keeping
• Independently follow new protocols and function with minimal supervision, once trained
• Contribute to design of experimental procedures
• Participate in maintenance of routine laboratory instrumentation and supplies
• Willingly share information and resources
• Cultivate positive and productive working relationships with colleagues
• Interact with manager and project team to review data and plan next steps
• Prepare and present work at group meetings
• Flexible to changing priorities
• Respectful of laboratory safety policies and practices
Qualifications:
• Solid understanding of scientific mechanisms and experimental techniques, with knowledge of cancer cell biology preferable
• Experience with laboratory procedures and instrumentation, including cell culture, basic cellular assays (e.g. proliferation/apoptosis), immunofluorescence, western blot, RT-PCR. Flow cytometry experience is desirable.
• Ability to multitask, independently organize time and plan specifics of work
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Requirements & Education:
The candidate must have a Bachelors or Masters in the Life Sciences, with a minimum of 2 years of additional experience in a research environment. Must be willing to work with a highly motivated team, pursuing goals aggressively. The candidate will be technically superb, detail oriented, well organized, and enjoys working in a fast paced environment.
