Senior/Principal Process R&D Engineer

Description:
This position reports to Group Leader of Pharmaceutical Process Development in Late Stage Pharmaceutical Development Department. The Senior/Principal Engineer will plan and conduct process characterization/verification for the unit operations involved in biopharmaceutical drug production. He/she will also work with formulation scientists and manufacturing staff to conduct process development, perform technology transfer, identify and define the critical steps and resources required to effectively resolve physical/biochemical and mechanical issues encountered in biopharmaceutical drug production. The individual shall be able to champion new ideas and bring in new technologies. He/she will be expected to lead cross-functional process development projects and CMC activities as well.

Requirements:
Has a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering or Pharmaceutical Technology with related experience in biopharmaceutical process R&D and scale-up or a M.S. degree in the above fields with related industrial experience. Experience in process characterization/verification and knowledge in process validation are preferred. Has good verbal/writing communication skills and the ability to interact in a multi-disciplinary group setting. Mechanical knowledge and aptitude are required.
