In our Environmental Sciences Department in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, we are currently recruiting for a Study Director in Environmental Fate. About the Job As a Study Director within Environmental Science you will ensure that Environmental Fate and Plant Metabolism studies are carried out to the required standards and approve the study data. You will be the single point of study control and have overall responsibility for the scientific, technical and regulatory conduct of studies allocated to you as well as for the interpretation, documentation and reporting of results. Close and regular liaison with the client is of primary importance. Other responsibilities and duties will be:
• To ensure that the study is performed in accordance with the study protocol and the Covance standard operating procedures as well as required scientific and regulatory standards
• To hold start-up and ongoing study meetings in order to be aware at all times of study status and anticipate problems that may affect timing, quality etc.
• To produce study protocols and reports to meet client and regulatory requirements
• To proactively manages client and study changes to meet timelines and ensure all additional costs are captured (work scopes)
• To present and publish scientific posters and/or presentations at external meetings
• To effectively use of CMS for scheduling and all resources (people, equipment and materials)
• To evaluate existing departmental procedures and systems and instigates process improvements
• To develop teamwork with study team, business development, QA and other departments while supporting and encouraging the development of team members
