This post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued development of a portfolio of high quality research activity in a thriving research environment. Based in the Department of Community Based Medicine in the University of Bristol, the post holder will be affiliated to the Bristol Randomised Trials Collaboration (BRTC, a UKCRC-registered and NCRI-accredited trials unit), the Academic Unit of Primary Care (member of the NIHR School for Primary Care Research) and NHS Bristol (formerly Bristol PCT). You will provide a dedicated and seamless link between the University and the NHS in order to oversee the development and management of NIHR portfolio projects from pre-application through to conduct and reporting. This will be achieved through working closely with academic, research and NHS staff to estimate research costs, obtain research ethics and other governance approvals, secure excess treatment and service support costs, and ensure that research activity complies with all necessary regulatory requirements. You will take lead responsibility for ensuring that all the necessary support is in place to maintain and expand a highly successful programme of research in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
