One post-doctoral research position is available for fall/winter 2009 in the laboratory of Dr. Jonathan Katz in the Gastroenterology Division of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Our lab is interested in general in the regulation of gastrointestinal epithelial proliferation, differentiation, and carcinogenesis. Specifically, the lab focuses on the key transcriptional regulators KLF4 and KLF5. Questions are addressed using mouse models (knockout mice, conditional knockout mice, transgenic mice) and primary cell culture models.

Applicants must have received a PhD or MD-PhD degree and have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including fluency in spoken and written English. Recent graduates with 0-2 years of post-doctoral experience are preferred. The successful applicant will be highly skilled in molecular biology techniques and cell culture. Applicants must be willing to work with mice, and experience with mice is preferred.
