Summary
A brand new permanent role for a qualified Microbiologist with management experience, to supervise the QC Biochemistry lab of a leading Pharmaceutical company on the South Coast. You MUST be an enthusiastic, motivational Manager who has knowledge of complex Micro testing, as well as experience of conducting review meetings and managing the daily workload of a team.

The Company
A pioneering UK-based Pharmaceutical company specialising in the treatment and prevention of allergies. Their unique focus is on allergy vaccination, also known as specific immunotherapy or desensitisation therapy. There are around 160 employees in Worthing and the company has an excellent reputation for its welcoming atmosphere, staff morale and ongoing development.

The Role
Reporting directly to the QC Manager (who oversees the Chemistry, Microbiology and Biochemistry labs), you will co-ordinate the day-to-day operations in the Microbiology lab. You will be responsible for allocating resources and arranging work schedules, in order to meet strict timelines for the QC testing of high volumes of samples.

As well as motivating the team of 10, you will be responsible for ensuring full GLP compliance at all times, producing accurate documentation and LIMS reports to support regulatory submissions.

Please note that your core hours are standard 8-4 days, but there may occasionally be the need to work earlier or later (earliest start 7am, latest finish 7pm).

Experience
The successful candidate will have a strong scientific background (ideally a degree in Microbiology, or similar), with extensive experience of working in a routine Quality Control Pharmaceutical lab. You must have an in-depth knowledge of various analytical techniques, together with first-rate Management, delegatory and communication skills.
