Manufacturing Manager - Pharmaceuticals / Diagnostics - Kent - £60k

Our client is the market leader in their sector offering a complete range of high-end analytical instruments as well as laboratory equipment, software services, consumables and reagents to enable integrated laboratory workflow solutions.

As Manufacturing Manager you will lead a multi-discipline function responsible for the manufacture of reagents for immunodiagnostic kits and for ensuring that manufactured reagents meet all internal and external performance requirements. In addition, you will be highly influential in producing appropriate production strategies and developments, maintaining and motivating high calibre staff and representing both site and company as necessary. This role forms part of the senior team and is a functional head for manufacturing.

Your main duties will include:

Ensuring that bulk components for diagnostic kits are manufactured on time and to the required standard, using cost effective methods and processes that comply with GMP and recognised quality systems thereby ensuring that sufficient stock of quality products is always available to meet needs.

Ensuring that the EIA manufacturing immunoconjugation and plate coating groups work as a cohesive unit.

Ensuring that the manufacturing group complies with the company quality policies and procedures together with championing PPI initiatives.

Responsibility for the hiring of staff, discipline, training and staff development.

Contributing to the overall performance of the business as a member of the Site Management Team.

Responsible for familiarising and complying with all health, safety and environmental rules, policies, procedures and any other instructions.

As the successful candidate it is essential that you have extensive relevant management experience in a diagnostic, pharmaceutical or related quality focused industry. Educated to degree level in a biosciences subject, you must have a wide understanding of business processes in order to provide support across the whole organisation. Additionally you must have experience in LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma together with good project management and problem-solving skills, drive, ambition and passion about what you do.

The opportunity offers a salary in the region of 60,000 plus benefits.
