The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field. The work involves collaboration with leading scientists in cancer and biological sciences at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Each project will involve new technical challenges and the ability to interact with diverse groups of investigators. Thus, we seek an energetic self-starter with good technical skills, but also people skills and the ability to work productively with others in a team effort.
Experience with tissue culture and small animal (mouse/rat) handling (eg, immunization, surgery), is strongly preferred. Other critical aspects of the job will include sterile tissue culture technique and standard molecular biology/biochemical methods (eg, SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, immunoprecipitation, Western blotting, ELISA, protein quantitation, and immunofluorescence, recombinant DNA technology). Computer skills are also important, and excellent organizational and record keeping skills are essential. If you are interested in this unique combination of technical service and small biotech startup activity, please submit a resume with at least 2-3 references (including phone numbers).
