Key contributor to RU omics strategy. Support collaborations with experts in the collection of “omic” data that are linked to patient outcomes and supervise development of associated computational infrastructure.
Primary Duties:
• Lead computational effort to propel Oncology Research Unit to become world-class integrator of omics in drug discovery and development.
• Actively develop and bring omics approaches into organization to support disease specialist groups in new target identification, validation, and project progression as well as in vitro and in vivo model development.
• Lead adoption of novel integrative omics approaches (e.g. chemogenomics) in La Jolla.
• Collaborate with external academic partners and BBC with particular support of Asia strategy.
• Create and partner to implement a strategy to ensure use of omics throughout cancer, and supervise development of the associated computational infrastructure.
Qualifications:
• Ph.D. or equivalent along with pharmacology and computational biology expertise.
• Expert knowledge of modern approaches to omics analysis.
• Strong publication or patent track record in computational biology and integrated omics required. Must have contributed to leading computational omics efforts.
• Deep knowledge of cancer biology omics efforts in academia and industry.
• 5+ years experience leading a computational biology group at a leading cancer omics center or academic/industry equivalent preferred.
