Fuel Cell Engineer - Alternative Energy - West Sussex - £35 - £45k + benefits


A world leading, dynamic, alternative energy company is looking to recruit an experienced, degree qualified Engineer to lead fuel cell stack engineering and design and provide a family of Fuel Cell Stacks capable of low cost volume manufacture.

Based at the company's facility in West Sussex you will work closely with other members of Fuel Cell Stack team to coordinate activities as well as interfacing with Product Design and Manufacturing engineers for seamless technology transfer and ongoing support during scale-up.

Key Accountabilities will include:

- Providing product development ownership for fuel cell stack across all programmes
- Performing design and development activities to enhance stack manufacturability
- perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of Fuel Cell Stacks
- Developing design validation test plans
- Performing design and production verification activities
- Supporting project planning and reporting results i line with overall programme timeline
- Providing feedback to project leader on design activities and analysis results

Knowledge Skills and Experience Required:

- Degree qualification from a leading university in mechanical engineering (or similar)
- A track record of delivering innovative mechanical designs and engineering within a world class product development environment for mass production
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis to optimise mechanical systems
- Detailed knowledge of mass manufacturing methods and influence on design
- Strong technical, problem solving and communication skills
- Familiarity with design tools and release processes
- Significant industrial experience

Desirable:
- Chartered Engineer
- Program Management
- Statistical experimental design experience
