Type 1 Diabetes Research

The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine seeks an outstanding researcher in immunology for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Applicant should have a track record in innovative basic and/or translational research related to immunity, tolerance, autoimmune diseases, or transplantation. In addition to joining an established, interactive clinical and basic research program in type 1 diabetes, outstanding collaborative opportunities also exist for research in other autoimmune diseases, immune deficiency, transplantation, and inflammation.

The applicant should hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have a record of published research and grant support consistent with the rank of the appointment. Clinical duties are not obligatory, but are an option for qualified applicants. Laboratory space, start up funds and salary are substantial, and together with faculty rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2010.
