Director, Strategic Alliances - Oncology will proactively identify, evaluate, and negotiate transactions for Oncology research. (S)he will lead the search process for oncology opportunities in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and academic arenas for compounds, technologies, and alliances and coordinate due-diligence process for technologies and collaborations.
The incumbent will be responsible to:
* Take a leadership role in identifying potential external opportunities and leading a multi-disciplinary team in the evaluation process.
* Lead initial contact with companies, including selling NIBR capabilities.
* Drive internal consensus on opportunities before they move to negotiation phase.
* Be actively involved in developing a strategy for Strategic Alliances-NIBR.
* Negotiate or support negotiator in deal structuring/negotiation exercises, as appropriate. Minimum requirements The ideal candidate will have an MD/PhD and a strong track record of scientific success in oncology, knowledge of the drug R&D process and a passion for science. The ideal candidate will also have 3-5 years experience in a business development and/or project management role. The candidate will be highly independent and organized, with the ability to idependently manage complex projects, while at the same time be capable of working within a team environment. (S)he will be a self starter, work with urgency and have superior analytical and communicative skills. (S)he will have a creative mind in order to establish innovative business solutions and concepts. Strong consensus builder, influencing and entrepreneurial skills will be critical. Personal impact, reliability and a pro-active hands-on attitude will be essential factors to succeed within the professional global business environment of our client. Next to English, which is mandatory, additional language skills are considered to be a plus. The individual must have proven people skills, together with exceptional presentation skills. The candidate should be capable of extensive travel.
