Director of Health Economics
My client is a world leading biotech company. Due to internal growth they are looking to recruit a Director to play a pivotal role in the organisation within feild of Health Economics and Outcomes Reseach
The Purpose of the role;
To design studies generating the evidence required by iHE, components of access strategies in the international region; to organise and supervise the execution of such studies
Context and Responsibilities:
* Designing and delivering diverse studies inc. large scale observational studies, database studies, or single centre studies supporting market access strategy
* Co-ordinating input from HE colleagues based globally, regionally and/or locally to ensure most efficient study design meeting local needs, while maintaining highest quality
* Alignement and team dynamics of multiple functions involved in study execution to achieve objectives on time and budget
* Performing HE and PRO-specific tasks from study design development to dissemination
* Co-ordinating role of HE and PRO and other colleagues from related functions
* Key role in further developing HE processes and study execution model
* Identify synergies between studies within Product area/ TAs and contribute to standardization of tolls and processes for studies across Tas
Key Activities:
Design and execution of studies
* Translate strategic value messages into researchable questions and practical studies
* Develops study strategic documents including concept document
* Oversees protocol writing, data analysis and reporting, in particular provides oversight for developing study-related materials such as study protocols and plans, training manuals, case report forms, focus group or interview guides, recruitment materials, data analysis plans.
* Leads the development of final reports
* Leads the execution of the publication plan for Europe, ensuring alignment with product communication strategy
* Key contributor to developing and improving processes integration study strategy with evidence generation in the international matrix
Expertise and coaching
* Provides input into clinical development and observational studies to ensure inclusion of relevant Health Economics and PRO parameters to support product access strategy
* Co-ordinate input from specialised junior staff when required
* Provides scientific consultation to colleagues on health economics and PRO research aspects
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with key consultants, opinion leaders and investigators the Therapeutic area(s) relevant to the assigned compound(s)
Communication
* Serve as a single point of contact for specific International Health Economics evidence generation projects, including both content and quality
* Provide project information at GCT and sub-team meetings and to other stakeholders, as appropriate
* Escalate project issues to IHE Head and GHE Product Lead, as appropriate
Decision Making Authority
* Communication and escalation of project issues and risks to International Health Economics Product Lead and function head as appropriate
* Project timeline changes within defined escalation criteria

Requirements
* Advance degree in either - Health Economics, Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Pharmacy, Medical or Statistics.
* Previous leadership experience of at least 5-years in conducting studies in the areas of Economics or Outcomes Research or Epidemiology in a hospital setting, pharmaceutical company, or CRO
* Technical and scientific knowledge in economics research methodology applied to healthcare
* Significant publication track record
* Knowledge of European regulatory approvals, drug development and pricing and reimbursement strategies
* Demonstrated people management skills
