Medical Physics Department seeks unstoppable force

Director of North Wales Medical Physics
Therapies & Clinical Support - Clinical Programme Group

Based at Glan Clwyd Hospital for the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board

Joining the largest health board in Wales, this is an opportunity for a strong leader to completely restructure the way Medical Physics services are delivered across the entire North Wales region. It is a role that will involve stripping our services right down, then rebuilding them however you see fit in order to achieve truly outstanding results.

Our Medical Physics services are broadly divided into Clinical Engineering, Rehabilitation Engineering, Radiotherapy Physics, Medical Equipment Management (EBME) and Radiation Physics. Glan Clwyd Hospital is also home to the North Wales Cancer Treatment Centre - an expanding development which provides a full range of cancer services to the entire population of North Wales. In this role, you will remould the teams and working practices in all these areas, while also having a real influence at both a strategic and political level in the organisation as a whole.

To warrant our consideration, you will need to combine a higher degree and fellowship of an appropriate professional body, with relevant postgraduate experience and a strong ability to foster innovative research. Thick skinned, but also a real team player, you should relish the professional and managerial challenge of making our high quality services even better than they currently are.

In return, we can offer a real commitment to your work life balance, together with our full support to pursue your own particular clinical or scientific interests. For suitable candidates, there is even the possibility of an honorary appointment to the University College of Wales, Bangor.

We recommend that an initial discussion is held with Mr. Clive Sparkes. Informal visits are also welcomed. Please contact Mr. Clive Sparkes, Chief of Staff, Therapies & Clinical Support - Clinical Programme Group on the telephone number listed within the 'View Contact Details' section below or e-mail: clive.sparkes@.wales.nhs.uk
