Provide leadership to Business Unit (BU) pre-commercial corn hybrid and soybean variety testing activities. This collaborative testing involves Pioneer customers, Area Agronomists, BU tech teams and research. Position will be accountable for the activities of up to 6 Area teams including all phases of planning, growing, in season data collection and harvesting to support Area and BU corn and soybean product commercialization. Position is also directly involved in development and implementation of evolving technologies and methodologies to improve product testing. Duties/Responsibilities Provide leadership to 6 -8 Area IMPACT field testing teams depending on BU. Each Area IMPACT team plants, collects data and harvests corn and soybean locations within a defined geography to support local product advancement. Collectively the BU teams will manage over 250 testing sites.

Develop and maintain efficient and effective processes to identify testing locations, assure timely planting, accurate in season data collection and timely harvest. Interact with BU research director, BU technical team and Area Agronomists to create and manage effective testing structure within defined geography. Collaborate with Technical Product Managers and Area Agronomists to assure IMPACT testing plans meet the data needs to support product advancement for each Area within the BU.

Hire and train Area IMPACT teams within assigned geography. Plan and coordinate training, and provide guidance to assure superior plot quality.

Lead one Area IMPACT team with direct responsibility for corn and soybean yield test plots including planting, data collection and harvest activities. Work directly with Area Agronomists to identify IMPACT plot cooperators. Maintain, organize and summarize results of experiments, suggesting actions to be taken to increase efficiency. Ensure data accuracy and timely entry into appropriate database.

Refine and implement evolving technologies, equipment, and methodologies to improve product testing.

Communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers to understand needs, capacities, and requirements for effective pre-commercial yield testing.

Ensure all operations are completed in a safe and cost effective manner.

May serve on teams as appropriate to address specific BU and/or research projects.. Educational Qualifications Desired Bachelors degree in agronomy, seed physiology, biology, plant breeding or related field and proven experience in field testing including planting and harvesting activities, or equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience. Masters degree preferred. Competencies and Experience Desired Previous experience with hybrid and variety testing and advancement procedures.

Strong self-motivation and leadership capabilities to motivate others, initiate projects, make decisions, and effectively solve problems.

Excellent personal interaction skills required for fostering teamwork, enhancing a good working environment, and effectively developing strong internal and external working relationships with a diverse group of people.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work outside in varying environmental and ergonomic conditions.

Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new skills.
