The Touchstone Diabetes Center, Department of Internal Medicine at the UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an Investigator at the Assistant Professor level. The position requires a PhD, MD/PhD or MD degree and three to five years of postdoctoral experience in the field of metabolism research. The applicant will develop an independent and externally funded collaborative research program focused on metabolic dysfunction in peripheral organs. Areas of interest include (but are not limited to) β cell and adipose tissue physiology, mitochondrial dysfunction and diabetic complications. The individual will join a program of highly integrated research groups in the areas of obesity, diabetes, nutrition, cardiovascular disease and cancer and will have state of the art phenotyping and assay capabilities available.
