Assistant-Associate Professor Basic Pain Research

The Department of Anesthesiology seeks an established and independent
research scientist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to develop a research program in the area of pain biology. It is expected that the successful candidate will be able to interact successfully with a large group of leading neuroscientists in the areas of ion channels, neuronal neuronal circuitry, and synaptic plasticity. The opportunity also exists for interactions with the clinical pain service.

The successful applicant will have strong research interests in aspects of pain and will have a Ph.D., M.D., or Ph.D./M.D. with postdoctoral training. The incumbent will have established a strong independent research program in basic laboratory and/or translational pain research with successful extramural funding and have the creativity and commitment to take his/her current program to a higher level offered by this recruitment.
