A Research Assistant Position is available in the Division of Immunology at Children's Hospital, Boston to participate in studies of allergic pathogenesis. Previous experience in cellular and molecular immunology and mouse work is desirable but not required.
We have established murine models of asthma, atopic dermatitis (eczema), food allergy and contact sensitivity. These are being used, together with targeted mutants and/or exogenously-administered biological response modifiers, to define mechanisms of induction of TH2 responses and eosinophil recruitment. In addition, we are performing studies on the effects of allergy on immune responses to vaccinia (small pox vaccine).
